Below is a link to a recorded webcast of a high school financial aid program by Lawrence Matthews, Director of Financial Aid at Bluffton University. This is the same program he gives at his area high school nights. As a public service he is making it available to you and to your families. It runs for about one hour and twenty minutes, including a short Q&A at the end. After you click on the link, the webcast will load and begin automatically. However, it is recommended that you pause the presentation (scroll to the bottom for the pause button) and take time to download the recommended handouts which include: the PowerPoint presentation, Ohio college and university priority deadlines for filing the FAFSA, the FAFSA on the Web worksheet, directions on completing the asset section of the FAFSA, and a cost comparison worksheet. FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA)
You must register for a PIN
(personal identification number) if you plan to file your FAFSA
online. One parent and your student should register for a
PIN number. You will need this PIN number each year you
re-apply so keep it in a safe place. Go to
http://www.pin.ed.gov
Starting Jan. 1 you need to
begin filling out the FAFSA information. You do not need to have
your tax return done! You can estimate with last years taxes.
When your taxes are complete for this year you will need to go back
in and submit those figures. Numerous colleges set a FAFSA
