SCHOLARSHIPS
BGSU Scholarship for Science/Math education major:
High school seniors considering teaching either secondary science
or math, or middle childhood science and math may be eligible for
this scholarship program. Scholarships are available starting at
$3800 the first year and up to $5200 for the fourth year. Basic
criteria: Ohio resident, incoming freshman fall 2011, minimum 3.0
GPA, minimum ACT 23. For more details and application visit

Van Wert Optimist Service Award:
$1000 scholarship from Van Wert Optimists. A minimum of 100 service
hours is required. DEADLINE for

The Big 33 Scholarship: Big 33 Scholarships provide
financial assistance to high school seniors who exhibit excellence
in a well rounded educational and extracurricular program. Who is
eligible: Current high school seniors:
-
enrolled in a public
or accredited private school in Ohio or Pennsylvania
-
who have attained a
2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA on a 4.0 scale) for the
previous two academic years (grades 10 and 11)
-
planning to continue
his/her education beyond high school in an accredited
institution of higher education or technical school

Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Program:
This scholarship provides financial
assistance to students who have critical need and have exhibited
integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.
Requirements: planning to attend college in the fall, critical
financial need, involvement in community, minimum GPA 2.0.

Engineering Scholarships:
Sponsored by the Engineers Foundation of Ohio. Eligibility
requirements are: graduating high school senior, 3.0 GPA, meet
minimum SAT or ACT test scores, citizen of the US.

Elks 2012 Most Valuable Student Scholarship:
Offering 500 four-year awards. Elks membership is NOT required.
Any high school student is eligible to apply. Applications are
judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Applications

DEADLINE: December 2nd, 2011.
Elks 2012 Legacy Awards:
Offering $4000 for four years. Who is eligible: High school senior
who is a child or grandchild of a living Elk who joined the order on
or before April 1, 2009. Applicants must take the SAT or ACT by

Ohio Elks Association Educational Fund Grants:
$1000.00 grant. Any prospective student residing within the
jurisdiction of a Elks lodge who plans to pursue a technical or two

SCHOLARSHIPS
KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program:
Up to $5000 per year for tuition, fees, books and room and board.
Eligibility requirements are: 2.75 GPA, enrolling in a public
in-state college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and US
citizen. The online application will be available from
December 1, 2011 through

Promedica Health System Scholarship:
The program encourages healthy lifestyles, while promoting solid
nutrition and exercise habits. Students can earn $5000 for
college. To enter, teams of one or two students in grades 11-12
will create a unique program for their community that will increase

Scholarship
This will be available starting January 1st. Only three people
from Crestview can be approved. You must have plans to attend a

AFSA Scholarship Contest
Open to seniors in the US who plan to further their education at a
college/university or trade school. Not based on financial need.
Relatives of AFSA staff or board members may not enter. You will
read a 3000 word essay about fire sprinklers and take a ten-question
multiple choice test. For each question answered correctly you will
receive one entry into a drawing for one of ten $2,000
